Maine Coon Rescue spays and neuters all cats before they are adopted. Kittens are not adopted until they are spayed/neutered. There are no exceptions to this rule!
Thousands of kittens are brought into this world with no place to go and nothing to look forward to. Even those lucky enough to end up in a home often get left behind or discarded.
Please spay or neuter your pet. It's the responsible, practical, caring, ethical thing to do.

Two uncontrolled breeding cats, plus all of their kittens, and their kittens' kittens, if none are spayed or neutered add up to:
- 1st Year = 12 * 2 litters per year
- 2nd Year = 66 * 2.8 surviving kittens per litter
- 3rd Year = 382 * 10-year breeding life
- 4th Year = 2,201 * X 10 Years = 80,399,780
- 5th Year = 12,680 the vast majority of these little lives
- 6th Year = 73,041 wind up as so much garbage in one way or another
- 7th Year = 420,715
