WV - Brownie (MCR) FIV Positive/Front Paw Declaw So when we got Frank we need he would need extra love and care being that he was found on the streets and also being an FIV cat. We already had a Tortie that was FIV and we thought he would just be a perfect match. At first, he had a few litter problems he would not go in a litter box that was not freshly scooped but once we got past that he has been great. He is in love with Cat Nip and Laser pointers. He likes to night watch we still haven't been able to change his sleeping habits. He goes to bed around 10 am and then wakes up for his "day" around 7 pm and wants to play all night. His favorite places to sleep are in the drawers under my bed and on top of my toddler's face lol. We are starting to take him outside in his cat book bag which he likes as well. Sometimes he loves being a little high maintenance with his food and will refuse to eat his dry food from time to time knocking it over til he gets what he wants. He will come and jump on my face while sleeping telling me it's time for him to eat lol. If he doesn't get his wet food though he will try and help himself to what's on the stove for dinner. He is so sweet and loving and the best little boy we needed in our family. Fiona (our torbie) still tries to show him that she is in charge from time to time with little growls. I know she won't admit it but I think he is growing on her as well. We also adopted another smaller cat for him to play with WHICH HE LOVES. Thanks for allowing our family to have him. Love, Brooke, Jayden, Brixlynn, Fiona, Frank, and our newest member Carl
WV - Charlotte (MCR) We got off to a pretty rough start - Charlotte had been passed around multiple times - we were her sixth placement! She didn’t know which end was up so her behaviors were erratic and disturbing. It took time, lots of patience, gentle care, a regular schedule, and ready food to help her feel safe and secure and settle into her new life and acceptable kitty behavior. Maine Coon Rescue was with us every step of the way. In addition to being a pretty girl, Charlotte is the life of our little household - she has far more presence than her slight 8 lbs would suggest. We call her our “yacketty-cat” as she’s very social … she announces her arrival in a room, actually holds conversations with her ‘peeps’ and follows us around with a running commentary. Our family room is strewn with her toys - she carries them around, hides them then brings them back out. She lets us know when it’s time to go to bed and when to get up in the morning. PS - she loves our screened porch! Jean and Bruce Williams Castle Hayne, NC
WV - Marigold (MCR) We adopted Sadie back in April. The whole process was quite thorough and smooth. Nina was largely responsible for that. The night we brought her home we put her up in our old Summer Kitchen with a bed, litter box, and a number of toys. We wanted to introduce her to the rest of the house slowly so she could get acclimated to her new surroundings. We did not hear a peep from her all night. She got accustomed to her new surroundings very quickly, so we soon let her have the run of the house. She has been a terrific companion. She is very playful, very friendly, and likes to be with our friends. She follows me pretty much around the house and sleeps at the foot of our bed. We live in an old house, and she enjoys sitting on the deep windowsills to watch the birds and butterflies. She has been a little naughty and likes to pull the toilet paper off the roll and occasionally pulls the dish towels/cloths off the rack. No big deal. She has grown into a beautiful kitty and makes me laugh. We love our little Sadie, and she has definitely brightened our lives. She means the world to us, and we could not have made a better choice. My wife’s nephew, who is ten and has two cats, said he liked Sadie so much when he met her that he would gladly trade his two cats for Sadie! I am retired and enjoy getting up with her every morning to give her a morning treat and look forward to enjoying a long and healthy life with her in our family. Kind regards, Jeff and Deb Rhoads.
WV - Little Mommy (MCR) Daisy was very shy at first and I was concerned that she would never come out of her shell. But now, after giving her a safe warm place to live, free food, cable, and a built-in playmate, she is blossoming more and more each day. She loves to sit on the windowsill while I'm working and soak up the sun, but most of all, she loves Theo. I hear them at night up and down the stairs romping around and it makes me very happy I stuck it out and let Daisy come out of her shell in her time. She's beautiful and so sweet. She was worth the wait.
OH - Cheyenne (MCR) Our family would like to thank everyone involved in the adoption process of our beautiful Cheyenne, Maine Coon Rescue only have the best interest in the placement of the kittens in their care, and for that we are so grateful! Cheyenne has had a rough start like so many, but through the process, they cared for her every need until she was healthy enough to go to her forever home! We were the blessed family that now have in our family, her adjustment was so easy and I’m sure it’s due to the wonderful loving care she received from her great foster mom! We love her so much, our vet told us we won the lottery, she has such a loving trusting personality! Thanks again to all the staff. Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
