Close your eyes and imagine that a golden boy enters your life, and his only mission and wish is to bring you joy and feel loved and safe. Now, open your eyes, and, behold, a stunningly handsome cat is looking right into your eyes! Voila...COLBY has appeared! COLBY is a dream boat! Aside from being very handsome, he has an amazing personality...friendly, laid back, loving and playful. He loves laps and lying on the bed or sofa to watch TV. He misses his last family where he and his sibling, Callie, had the loving care of a retired couple. Unfortunately, their human mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and she made the decision to rehome them so they could get the attention and care they need.

COLBY is very outgoing and approaches me, the foster, when I enter the room and puts his big beautiful paws on my leg and "climbs" to be petted. He craves the attention he got at his former home where he was much loved. COLBY does well with other cats, small dogs (maybe big ones too but that has not been tested), and children. Play comes easily as there are many balls and other paws with which to play. His litter box habits are immaculate, and he has a great appetite. Right now he is eating Purina ProPlan Complete Essentials which he likes; he would also benefit from a high quality wet food.

COLBY came into MCR with his sibling, Callie. They were reported to be bonded. After spending these several weeks with them, I determined that they are not bonded in the true sense. In fact, I would be hard pressed to get a picture of the two of them together. While in their previous home, they had only each other and it was natural and normal to spend a lot of time together. Once in an area with other cats, they expanded their group of friends. Maine Coon Rescue would love to see them adopted together but it is not a requirement. There is a $25 discount for adopting two.

We promise that you will not be disappointed with COLBY if you are lucky enough to adopt him, He will need a few weeks to get comfortable with this new home but with the proper introduction to his new surroundings, he will soon meld right into the home and its activities. 

There is no charge for transport within a 250-mile radius of St. Albans, WV if the adopter is willing to meet at least halfway; otherwise, there is an $85 transport fee.

Adoption Fee: $200 includes neuter, combo test (neg/neg), rabies and FVRCP vaccinations, dewormed and flea preventatives. He also comes with a microchip registered to Maine Coon Rescue with the option for the adopter to add their name and contact information.
