THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. Sir Chancellor is everything a Maine Coon is said to be, a true gentle giant. His appearance is quite regal with his tall stance, striking eyes, fluffy mane, and long fluffy tail, as well as his strong white bib and paws that stand out against his traditional Tabby tuxedo coat. Very traditional American Maine Coon. The vet determined him to be about three years young. He has an easy-going nature and is very friendly, affectionate, and super intelligent. He talks a little - just enough to appreciate his sweet coonie voice. He also sometimes makes adorable silent meows. Chancellor is the "cave dweller" type who seeks out comfy little hidy spaces to hang out in. Though he might do a little climbing as well if the opportunity presents itself. He also loves a big cushy pet bed with lots of room for him to roll around and lounge. A comfy sofa and soft bed to cuddle on with you are also acceptable. Cuddle time really gets his motor running and has him kneading lots of biscuits. Keeping his nails trimmed and a comfy throw blanket will help protect your lap. He enjoys being brushed, so daily grooming times are a pleasant opportunity for bonding. He actually seems to even like car rides. Not much is known about his background, just that he showed up one day to be fed with a feral colony in Philadelphia PA. After about a month or two a TNR-only group scooped him up with the others, which is when they called MCR as he's clearly not feral. He uses the litterbox perfectly like the true gentleman that he is. He is accepting of natural litter, including pelleted. Potential adopters should be willing to continue to work with his gradual transition to better quality food - with which he has made huge progress. Slow introductions should help him to accept another mild-mannered pet in the home, as he does take some time to warm up to them and to new places. He may not do well in a multi-pet household nor with territorial or strong natured pets. He can lash out at times if he feels threatened or insecure. His ideal home will be one in which he is not left alone for long periods of time, as he craves companionship and can tend to get lonely. While he doesn't need to be constantly entertained, he is comforted by your presence. All-in-all, Chancellor is quite an affectionate lap cat and a purrfect companion. Friends, don't miss out as this guy truly is the total package!
