Lucy is a 6.5 yr old black and white Maine coon mix girl.  

Lucy is very affectionate and
will get up on hind legs when she wants to be picked up.  Enjoys just
being around her people.  Only likes to be picked up on her terms and
for just a short time.  Enjoys being brushed.  Very important for her
people to understand her body language - she will bite and squirm if
picked up when she does not want it or if petting goes on too long. 
Enjoys playing with feather on string pole.  Head butts for kisses. Be
aware - she does like to run in front of you when you're walking which
might pose a fall risk for anyone unsteady on their feet.  Does not
like to be alone for long periods of time (more than a day). She will
run out of an open door but only wanders about 10 feet or so.

Lucy needs an extra deep litter box and reintroduction to a scratching post.

She would prefer a home without young kids and dogs.  She has not been around other cats.

Her elderly owner died.  Applicant
is the owner's daughter - I cannot take her b/c my (2)dogs have prey
drive and I'm allergic to cats - although I love this cat! I am
concerned about trying to find her a new home on my own b/c I believe
she really needs someone who understands cats and who will not leave
her alone for long periods of time.  She needs stimulation and
enrichment.
