My name is Howie. I was living in a really awful house. I had rancid water and very little food, my litter box was overflowing, and I was all alone. I was also covered in fleas and scabs from all of the itching. I was very sad. Uncle Joe and Aunt Jill rescued me and took me to the doctor where I got medicine and a clean bill of health. One eyeball was very small but the doctor said I was probably born that way. I could still see stuff. Then they took me home with them in hopes I could live with them forever. I was very happy and purred a lot. They gave me my own room so the other kitties in the house could get used to me. Uncle Joe would come in there with me, and I would fall asleep on his chest

The other kitties didn’t like me. I just wanted to play but they just didn’t like that. Uncle Joe and Aunt Jill love me but decided that I could not stay with them so they contacted Maine Coon Rescue. My foster mom took me home with her where I have been loved on and found other cats who do like me. I had to have the little eye removed because the vet thought it might just be a source of irritation and infection later on. I did great once I got rid of that awful cone I had to wear for awhile. Really, people, can’t you come up with something else??

I am looking for someone to love me and take care of me forever. I love to play with toys because I never had them when I was a kitten. I am very sweet and really want to be the best boy ever. Won’t you be the person to give me that home that comes with love and the toys I like so much?

NOTE FROM FOSTER MOM – Howie’s eyeball was removed because the eye was sunken, and the vet thought the open eyelid would be a target for infection. Howie’s hair is growing back and is ever so soft. He is a big, sturdy, very solid boy with huge feet (see picture). Howie is confident but not alpha. He gets along with his roommates both male and female. If you love a cat that flops over on his back to have his belly rubbed, Howie is waiting on you!

Adoption Fee - $175.00 which includes combo test (neg/neg), rabies and FVRCP vaccinations, neuter, deworming, flea preventative and microchip registered to Maine Coon Rescue
