THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. The elusive Penny is finally ready to make her debut!! Penny came into foster care in February 2023. She was so scared and shy that I didn't see her for weeks! When she would rarely come out if I so much as looked at her she ran back into hiding. I have worked hard to show her how good it feels to be loved and petted. She will now come out and rub on everything! She still cringes a bit when I try to pet her, but not near as bad as she used to. For a while she would come up to juuuust within reach of my fingertips, but not close enough where I could pet her. Now I am able to pet her while she is eating her wet food. I'm able to pick her up but she will kind of freeze and just sit there. We still have some work to do in that area. I think once she is in her new home she will learn that love and affection don't hurt and she will grow to love it! I really think with time and patience to let her come around on her own terms she will be a very affectionate cat. She already wants love so badly but is afraid to come close enough on her own to receive it. She rubs on anything and everything and has even rubbed on my legs! These are all huge steps from where she was in February! I wish I knew what her background was like and what caused her to be so very cautious. I never thought she would come around and it makes me so happy to see her making strides every day! I think now that she has come this far, once she is in your home it won't take as long for her to come around as it did here in the beginning months. She will need someone patient and I do feel a quiet, calm household will allow her to be her best self. She is great with other cats that don't bully her. She is playful and funny too! You'll see her purrrsonality peeking out more each day. The very last photo is the day I got her from the shelter. As you can see she has come a long way physically. She has grown so much, put on weight, and her coat has come in more fully. She has a nice, plush coat that doesn't need any grooming. I am sure she will enjoy brushing as bonding time for the two of you! She is a calm, quiet girl who is neat and tidy with the litter box and her grooming habits. I have never seen a mat in her coat at all, so that's always a plus! She will make someone the perfect companion. Are you the one to show her what a real home feels like? This princess is waiting for you! Penny's adoption fee is $200.00. This includes spay/neuter, all vaccines, microchip, dewormer, flea medication, and wellness visit.
