TOMI* is a friendly but reserved gal who longs for more individual attention than she can get in her foster home. She does well with other cats but tends to not take part in the cat shenanigans. When she plays, which is usually chasing a ball, it is by herself. TOMI loves laps, and if she catches you kneeling in front and below her (as in scooping litter boxes) she will try to burrow in your hair. With no front claws, it is harmless if you are willing do deal with a little disarrayed hair. TOMI does not spend time with dogs but has been dog tested with a 20-pound terrier/dachshund mix and was totally at ease. Her exposure to children is unknown but she should do well with older (six or over) respectful children. TOMI does a good job of grooming herself but needs occasional help with the harder to reach places. 

TOMI was someone’s pet who chose to declaw her front paws and then put her outside to fend for herself. A neighbor fed her and provided shelter but could not take her inside because her resident cat would not cooperate. She even put a collar on TOMI hoping to send a message to the other neighborhood cats that “this kitty is loved so be nice to her” as those kitties made life a bit rough on her. Finally, the caring neighbor reached out for someone to rescue her and give her the inside home she needs. TOMI is a sweet girl just waiting for someone to love her and help her blossom.

TOMI has a healthy appetite and currently eats Purina ProPlan Complete Essentials kibble and enjoys Fancy Feast on occasion. She has excellent litter box habits, uses an uncovered litter box and is not particular about litter choice.

* Tomi is a girl's name of Japanese origin. This name simply means "rich" and will set a tone for living in the lap of luxury from day one

Adoption Fee: $200 includes combo test (neg/neg/neg), spay, rabies and FVRCP vaccinations, deworming, flea preventative. TOMI has a microchip registered to MCR which is not included in the adoption fee but the adopter can add their name and contact information. 

TOMI is eligible for adoption within a 250 mile radius of zip code 25177 if the adopter is willing to help with transport. If not able or willing to help with transport an $85 transport fee is assessed.
