*Please note, the adoption fee listed is for each cat. Each cat has their own separate adoption fee.* THE FOLLOWING CATS ARE BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. Fish and his sister, Cushion, came to Baltimore, MD from West Virginia, where they were orphaned at just 3 days old. They were bottle fed and raised in a home environment. That early socialization has made them easy-going and quite fearless in new situations and around new people. They are best friends and spend all their time together, so they must be adopted as a pair. Fish has striking teal eyes and a short, round body. He is a full pound heavier than his sister, despite being a lot shorter than she is. He's a total brick, to be honest. Fish has an outgoing, matter-of-fact, and very quirky personality! He is a dominant cat and won't hesitate to wrestle cats twice his size (which he does, and now our huge resident cat is crazy about him!) Fish is totally fearless--he sat in the bathtub with the faucet on full-blast and played with a visiting 2-year-old, totally unfazed. When he first arrived with us, Fish was not interested in affection; he always wanted to play rather than be held or petted. However, after a couple of weeks, he warmed up to the idea of "just chilling" and now he cuddles up on the bed, or lays on the back of the couch, napping with his chin on my shoulder. His adopters should plan on spending time playing with Fish and Cushion because fun, active games are how they relax and form bonds with new people. You may notice a lump of Fish's left cheek. You can see it in the funny photo of him with an under-bite, under the grey patch. I took him to a vet, who found that Fish had an impacted canine tooth. The tooth was removed surgically and recovery was smooth, but the mystery lump remained. The vet took more x-rays and determined that the impacted tooth put pressure on his little kitten-skull, causing it to form abnormally. Fish will always have a slight bump on his cheek but the vet has assured us that it will not impact his health or quality of life. He will just continue to make the occasional bull-dog face and pant a little bit when he plays really hard. It's been a long and expensive three months, but Fish is now in tip-top shape with a bright future in front of him. We love having him and his sister here. Even the vet techs and nurses will miss Fish, telling me, "He is our favorite! In the post-op recovery room, he flops and rolls around like a fish until someone stops to pet him." Fish is located in Baltimore, MD. Area Code 21211
