BIO:
Amber Rose started life as so many of our rescues–born to a homeless mother, turned over to a high-kill shelter in W. Virginia, and ultimately rescued by a kind, caring human. In spite of that challenging beginning, Amber Rose at 26 weeks (6.5 months) old is one of the sweetest, cutest, most lovable kittens you could ever hope to encounter! She loves to snuggle with her favorite humans; play with her cat foster siblings; and even allow the big dog with the long nose to act like she’s her baby! (Ask to see the video clip.) Her Maine Coon heritage is obvious, from the lovely blonde fur ruff that frames her face to the tip of her fluffy bottle-brush tail. But that heritage is also plain from her gentle, loving disposition. She is still a bit babyish in that, when snuggling, she wants to knead and suckle, especially any plushy material (that her favorite person is wearing). Can’t predict whether she will outgrow that behavior. It just means that keeping her front claws clipped is a great defensive move! It is going to be difficult to part with Amber Rose, but she is ready for a loving new home. She is fully vaccinated (until one year old), spayed, and has received her final healthy-pet visit with the vet. Our household has exposed her to many different interactions, including young children, adult cats (one of whom did not like her very much, but seems to have been won over), older kittens, and a dog that thinks it’s her job to supervise the cats. (Due to a case of mistaken identity, Amber Rose picked up a couple of extra names along the way, so some of her past paperwork bears those names--L'il Abner and Princess Leia.)
