Maine Coon Rescue THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. Femi is a beautiful, affectionate kitty. Her name means "love me" in Yoruba, and she really does want you to love her! Femi is approximately 11 years old per her paperwork but looks and acts much younger. She has typical Main Coon traits and personality. Femi is vocal, making trills and chirps as well as meows when she wants food or attention. She has medium length gorgeous silky soft fur in a brown/black/orange tabby pattern with a white blaze on her chest and white feet. She has a fluffy tail, neck ruff, ear tufts, and tufts on the pads of her feet. Over the Winter, Femi has grown a beautiful orange "mane" around her face and looks like a little lion. Femi is a joy to have in our home. She lives up to her name and really, really wants someone to love her! She wants to be part of everything and follows us around the house. She likes to sit on our laps and enjoys being petted. If she thinks we should be petting her and we are not, she will put her head in our hands. Femi has a great purr, and we hear it often. When she is really happy, she will knead your lap or her blanket. She often gently bites my shirt when she kneads my lap. It's adorable! She accepts being picked up and held for short periods of time. The more she's come to trust us, the more she welcomes being held. She's really turned into quite the snuggle bug and will make someone a loving animal companion. Femi has a clean bill of health and was well-behaved during her check-up and blood work. She also had a dental cleaning. She had one tooth extracted but everything else looks good. She would be best suited for a home with adults (older children who understand cats would be fine). As a foster cat, Femi has her own room with a dog gate in the doorway. Sometimes one of our cats jumps the gate and sometimes Femi jumps the gate to explore. If Femi sees one of our cats, she hisses and freezes. She does not start a fight, but she does seem scared and upset. So, I think this lovely little lady would be most happy in a home where she is the only cat.
