Meow! My name is Geoffrey. Maine Coon Rescue cannot guarantee the parentage or breed of cats on this site. **THIS IS A COURTESY POST** THIS IS A COURTESY POST CAT WHO IS BEING CARED FOR BY A PRIVATE PARTY NEEDING TO REHOME THEIR CAT. FOR INFORMATION ON THIS CAT, PLEASE DIRECTLY CONTACT THE PERSON NAMED BELOW. Until just a few days ago I spent most, maybe all, of my life on the streets of a town in WV. There were people who fed me, occasionally invited me in and gave me a pat on the head. I really loved that but the whole time I really just wanted a full time home with full time love and not wondering where my next meal might come from. Then one day, this really nice lady showed up with a contraption I had never seen before. I heard them talking later and it was a trap. Well, I didn't know what trap meant but I could smell some wonderful food waiting for me in there so I did what any hungry cat would do - I went in to eat and then SMACK! I was trapped. That was ok, though, because I got food that night and a warm place for the night. The next morning I went to what I think they call a clinic. I'm not sure what they did to me there but now I am out of the trap, getting regular meals, a warm place to sleep and all kinds of hugs and love. Now I am looking for that "forever home" I hear them talking about. I am hoping that might be with you.
PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM FIV POSITIVE SO I NEED A SPECIAL HOME, PREFERABLY WITH NO OTHER CATS OR VERY DOCILE CATS. I love everyone. I am not a fighter but if another cat provokes a fight....well, we just don't know so why take a chance? I have been dog and small children tested, and I did well. I am overall very healthy for a cat that has been living outside - it can only get better from here. I need (and prefer) an indoor only home so I can remain healthy. I just need extra doses of love, a great diet and regular checks with the vet. I hope that might be with you! Geoffery is UTD with all vaccines including FVRCP and Rabies, neutered, dewormed and flea preventative. He tested negative for FeLV and positive for FIV resulting in his need for that special home.
