Every year, we help to save hundreds of Maine Coons from abandonment, abuse, and euthanasia. Some of these cats have been neglected and require vet expenses such as shots, dental care, spaying and neutering, and unforeseen health issues. Maine Coon Rescue restores these animals' health before they are matched with the perfect forever home.

One of our recent rescues involved a backyard breeder. He had sold off all of his Maine Coons except for two. We received a call that the cats would be euthanized if we couldn't take them because they had lived their entire lives in a cage with no socialization or veterinary care. These cats could not be placed in a no-kill shelter; it takes the loving touch of a foster to make them trust people and become loving companions. We have taken these cats in and have made them part of a loving family for the first time in their lives.

Every day we are contacted by families who can no longer care for their animals, elderly owners who cannot take their cats with them to an elderly care facility, or people who just don't want these cats any longer. 100 percent of our funding is spent on the care, promotion, transport, and placement of the cats.
